member recognized for Distinguished Contributions to Lifelong Learning by
University of Washington
One of the Seattle Section's members, Dr. John E.
Schaufelberger, was recently recognized by the University of Washington in
Seattle with the Distinguished Contributions to Lifelong Learning Award.
Dr. Schaufelberger is an Associate Professor and the Chair of the
Construction Management Department at the UW. He has authored or
co-written numerous textbooks that are used widely in the construction
management discipline including Construction Cost Estimating; Process
and Practices, Management of Construction Projects: A Constructor's
Perspective, Construction Equipment Management, and Construction Business
Management. |

Seattle Section
Members providing Presidential leadership for Association

AACE Seattle Section Member,
Stephen P. Warhoe, PE CCE CFCC
has be inducted as the Association
President at the Annual Meeting in Toronto, Canada (June
30-July 2). Steve has served in various offices as Vice President of
Administration and Regional Director, along with many Section offices in the
Denver Section.

Following Mr. Warhoe's exceptional leadership will
be another Seattle Section Member,
Mark G. Grotefend, CCC.
Mark has been serving as Vice President of Regions from 2006-2008 and
was just inducted as the new Association President for the program year
2009-2010
and as such will be responsible for the coordination and oversight of the
2009 Annual meeting here in Seattle, WA. |

Section to host AACE International 2009 Annual Meeting |
| AACE International's 2009 Annual Meeting will
be held at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel, Seattle Washington from June 28th
thru July 1st, 2009. The Seattle Section is gearing up to help
the Annual Meetings Committee put together a fantastic meeting and is
excited to show off our city to members from around the world. Our
Past Seattle Section President, Mark Chen will be responsible for heading up
the Local Arrangements Committee and we are looking for Section members who
would like to get involved and show the Spirit of Seattle. If you are
interested in participating, contact one of the section officers or Mark
Chen. |
